Also, being blunt, it is common for production teams to be looked down on by the cast at university.The show would not go on without the cast, but it certainly wouldnt go on without the funding, costumes, venue, ticketing, publicity, organisation and other efforts of the production team either. It is also important to mention that skills in production are very esteemed in the real world, so by getting yourself involved at university you are doing yourself a favour for your graduate prospects too!On Stage Managing Rebecca TaylorWhen I arrived at Exeter I was more interested in acting in shows. When I failed to make the cast in extra-curricular productions, I decided I still wanted to get involved anyway, so I decided for the first time to trya production role. The first role I had was Assistant Stage Manager for the London tour of Theatre With Teeths Angelus. I remember being nervous at first as I did not know what I was doing, but Im so glad I got involved because I met lots of lovely people from other year groups.
